thank you

As I sat down today to write an entry for my blog, I was overwhelmed by the thought that I think I have come so far with my business in this last few years, and I’m looking forward to taking it even further as I try out new and creative ways to please my clients. I guess I have always come from the school of thought, that in order to be successful at what I do, I should just be myself and enjoy what I do. So, in a way, I have just always measured my success according to whether I can wake up every day and go on a photo shoot and find real happiness in what I do. If not, why bother, right? That’s why I feel so lucky to be doing what I do, and I have so many people to thank for helping me get where I am today. So many friends, families and clients have offered endless support (and referrals, thank you), and to all of you, I sincerely thank you. As a show of thanks, I have put together a little slideshow featuring those who have been so gracious with their support over the past couple years. By no means, is this everybody. Please stop by in the next couple weeks to see new entries. Again, thank you, and enjoy the show as much as I enjoyed taking the shots.

baby "M"

I recently had the privilege of photographing one of the cutest babies in town. Baby "M". Her eyes were wide open. She was just taking in every scent with her little nose and every touch on those tiny little hands. What a miracle. Precious... Kristy - thank you for letting me into your home and sharing the intimate moments with your new baby.

baby shower

Here are the detail shots of my friend Nicole’s baby shower. This was my first attempt to make sugar cookies as party favors, and I think they looked pretty good. More importantly, they tasted just as good as they looked. See, I usually leave that job for Nicole. She is usually making the cookies for all my events, but since she was the guest of honor, I had to be a little creative--thanks to my partners in crime, Cathy and Amy. I think we pulled it off. Take a look at my cake decorating as well. Not too bad, but I think I will stick to taking pictures. Here are the shots.

They grow up so fast.....

It seems like every woman in town is having a baby--well that is, all my friends are anyway. I think I have been invited to more baby showers this summer than ever before. It must be the heat… Yikes. I better stay indoors where it is cool…. Some friends of mine and I hosted a baby shower for a dear friend, Nicole. And it really made me think how time has flown with my own two children. Everybody always told me, “Just enjoy every moment, they grow up so fast” and guess what? They were right. Madeleine seems to be in her pre-teens at the age of 4 and Ryder is already had his first set of stitches at 15 months… Ouch… (That was not fun.) My goodness, where has the time gone? So for all you new mommies out there I must say. “Just enjoy every moment, they grow up so fast.”

I will post photos of the baby shower on my next post… Until then…

Dowtown.....

I always love shooting in Dowtown Redlands--the old streets, old lights and historic brick buildings always make for some fun interesting shots. I am so glad (Sal and Melissa) were up for it as well for their engagement session. I like to make my couples feel like they are on a date, just with an extra tag along (ME) :) Whether it's taking a stroll on the sidewalks or grabbing a cool treat (ICE CREAM… Yummy…), I just love those dates… Here are a few shots of the day…..

{lenny and hayden e-session}

As I was driving up the windy roads to Lake Arrowhead, I thought, Omg, I am getting a little dizzy, but I knew the end result was going to be beautiful. As I met my clients (now new friends) Lenny and Hayden, they showed me around the beautiful garden where they will be married in Aug. Wow. It sure was beautiful. Walking up the driveway, I noticed a pimped out VW bus. I knew I had to take a few shots of them in the bus. Way cool. And then near the end of our session, we finally went to see the beautiful lake. Wow. Amazing, as it was only steps away…. It was so much fun getting to know the two of you and I am looking forward to your wedding day.
