a crazy walk in Target... ;)

It's pretty crazy when you are walking through Target, and you get a phone call from one of the Oprah producers, uh!. Hello!!!!! but even better when you have friends like Matt and Madeline to go along with this story... but the story does not begin here, it begins when I first met Matt and Madeline.

I was actually quite nervous to meet Matt.. not knowing what to say to a man that had just lost the love of his life 27 hours after giving birth to their beautiful daughter. I say "hello"... He welcomes me in, his family and friends welcome me in and from there...I made some remarkable friends instantly... Maddy was so small, holding her and knowing how much love she had.. It was quite apparent that these two had a special bond.

and lucky enough to give this now famous robot a little piece of love.. ha!....

The story didn't end there. Over the year, I was fortunate enough to build on that friendship with Matt and Madeline,

one that would eventually bring us all back together a few weeks ago for Maddy's first birthday shoot.

I couldn't believe how much she had grown, and it was so nice to see that Matt, too, had grown as a father to young Maddy. All one has to do is visit his blog and see how much his story, his pictures and his words have touched so many people...

With his blog, he is not only documenting his powerful feelings, but also documenting each day with and for his beautiful daughter Madeline.

And so there I am, back in Target, walking down the aisle, when the producers from The Oprah Winfrey Show call me on my cell phone, asking to use my pictures as well as my awesome husband's video for a segment that they are doing on Matt's story. Of course we said yes, HELLO.... it's Oprah... because if what we do, capturing moments, can help highlight his story as well as the Liz Logelin foundation, then we are in all the way.

Thanks Matt for sharing your story and sharing Madeline for all us to all enjoy. ;)
For those who have not visited Matt's blog yet, you may want to start here
Matt and Madeline will appear this Monday the 13th on Oprah.. please check your local listings for times.. ;)
